St-Michel-de-Fronsac is a peaceful village set in a bend of the Dordogne river in historic wine country. The village has a lovely church, boulangerie, small supermarket/farm shop and restaurant, all within around 10 minutes' walk. Visit the countless wine chateaux in the area and discover the wonderful Fronsac and Canon Fronsac wines as well as the world famous wines of nearby Pomerol (15 minutes' drive) and stunning St-Emilion (20 minutes' drive). The local market town of Libourne (7 minutes' drive) offers all amenities, including Carrefour and Leclerc hypermarkets and a market three times a week. Libourne has high speed train links to Paris and Bordeaux and a regional link to Bergerac. Beautiful Bordeaux and its international airport are 40 minutes' drive. The stunning Atlantic coast at Arcachon is also a great day out.
